Cancer antigen (CA) 15-3 is a protein produced by normal and cancerous cells. It is typically used to monitor breast cancer progression and reoccurrence.
CA 15-3 can also be elevated in some non-cancerous conditions such as liver disease, sarcoidosis, and lupus as well as other forms of cancer.
Instructions
Fasting is not required for this test. Take all medications as prescribed.
